Our sailing activities
We offer engaging sailing experiences for people of all ages and abilities. Our activities are designed to foster skill development, teamwork, and most importantly, bring joy to everyone involved.
Training disability sailors
You will have the satisfaction of training disability sailors to crew our specially designed access sailboats, making a real difference in their lives.
Volunteer roles
From rigging boats to assisting on the pontoon, or even sailing with participants, there are many ways to contribute as a volunteer, no experience needed.
All volunteers are welcome.
On the water experience
Take part in the operation and crew of our access sailboats and experience the freedom and exhilaration of being on the water. Or helping out on the pontoon if thats what you want to do. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED!!!

The absolute best thing we want you to know is that joining Sailability on Tweed allows you to take part in the operation and crew of our specially designed access sailboats. You'll gain immense satisfaction from helping disability sailors experience the joy of sailing, contributing directly to their empowerment and enjoyment. It's a truly rewarding experience that creates lasting memories and builds a strong sense of community.
A typical sailing session
As a volunteer, when you arrive, you will assist in the rigging of our sailboats, then help launch them. Following this, you can assist on the pontoon or take a boat out for a 30-minute sail with a disability person. We meet Wednesday mornings from 9am for about 4 hours next to the boat ramp in Dry Dock Road South Tweed.
Heartwarming moments
The greatest rewards come from seeing the sheer joy on the faces of our disability sailors when we take them out on the water. These moments of happiness and freedom are truly heartwarming and make every effort worthwhile.
